TaxQueries.com is a website built to serve tax professionals.

There are a lot of websites dedicated to CPAs, accountants, and other tax professionals but we were unable to find one that we felt truly fit in the way TaxQueries does.

Some of the many problems we saw with discussion forums and other websites were spam, arguments, flame wars, difficult to use, etc. TaxQueries.com has taken a rather unique approach to dealing with these things.

On TaxQueries.com, the members of this community decide who's answer is the best. The best answers rise to the top and the users gain "reputation" points for every question or answer the community votes for.

Users can also lose reputation by posting questions or answers that are incorrect, irrelevant, or not useful in general.

Note: Since nobody in their right mind is going to vote for spam posts they will ultimately always end up at the bottom or flagged immediately and removed.

As you earn reputation on TaxQueries.com (by asking good questions or giving good answers) you will gain more abilities on the website. People who know what they're talking about and contribute will earn the most reputation and rise up in rank. Once a user has earned enough reputation they essentially find that they have no limitations at all. They essentially have become a moderator and can edit both questions and answers (even other people's questions and answers). Another interesting feature of TaxQueries.com is that we use a tagging system to organize all of our information. Every question and answer is tagged with one or more relevant tags.

You can choose to enter tags you are "Interested In" and also tags you wish to "Ignore". The system will then tailor the display to your preferences by highlighting or hiding questions according to your interests.

We have a goal...

That goal is to become the ultimate resource for tax professionals. Our dream is that one day a user will be able to ask a question and WITHIN MINUTES receive answers from other tax professionals across the country.

Over the coming weeks and months we plan on implementing many more improvements to the user interface and overall TaxQueries.com experience.
